I am not sure where the film is from because the people who produced the film was from Britain, however the film was not filmed in Britain and the most of the actors are not British actors, this is a tricky one.

Trainspotting-Marketing

The Poster
The poster doesn’t let out much information about the type of movie. The genre and themes cannot be indentified from just looking at the poster. Although the target audience isn’t given we know from the rating that only 18’s can view the movie, why is the rating so high, possibly because there may be some explicit scenes, foul language, violence or drugs. We do not know who the target audience is we know that they have to be over 18, an adult. Unique selling points that are used in this posters are the characters because there images are larger than the title, the audience are automatically attracted to the characters and may recognise them from other movies. Another selling point is “From the makers of Shallow Grave” this is saying that the people who made Shallow Grave made Trainspotting possibly attracting the audience from Shallow Grave to this movie, because if they liked the work done on Shallow Grave they may like the work done on Trainspotting. The information Given about the movie is the title, Trainspotting, the main characters profile, image and name, the rating, the age of the people who are allowed to see the movie (18), another movie that creators have made, so if you know who made Shallow Grave then you know who made this movie, at the bottom in the black there are some of the companies that helped produce the movie and the actors names. From looking at this poster the main thing that attracts me to this film is the fact that it is called Trainspotting and they haven’t included an image of a train, there is a contrast between the title and the images.
The Trailer
The trailer lets on more information about the movie due to the sound and video. Although the genre still isn’t clear, we can see some key narratives that are going to be seen in the movie. The target audience again isn’t clear like the poster we can only see that the movies is for over 18’s because there ratings. The selling points are the same as the poster as they still include the characters profile; each section has been dedicated to a character and events that happen to them in the movie, a profile image and there is used before showing little clips of their events from the movie. “From the Makes of Shallow Grave” is included as the selling point, people who have seen Shallow Grave will now who the makers are and would have wanted to watch Trainspotting because they enjoyed Shallow Grave. The thing that makes me want to see the movie is the choppy cuts used in the trailer it just makes me want to see more, everything is very speedy and seems like I just need to watch more.

Trainspotting(1996)

Synopsis
Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor), a young man with few prospects and fewer ambitions, lives in economically depressed Edinburgh. Like most of his friends, Renton is a heroin addict who loves the drug's blissful nothingness; financing his habit also provides excitement and challenges that his life otherwise lacks. Renton's two best friends are also junkies: Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), a snappy dresser obsessed with James Bond, and Spud (Ewan Bremner), a guileless nerd who suggests Pee Wee Herman's debauched cousin. Renton and his pals also hang out with Begbie (Robert Carlyle), a borderline psychotic who loathes junkies even though he drinks like a fish. After one too many brushes with the law, Renton kicks heroin and moves to London, where he finds a job, a flat, and something close to peace of mind. However, Sick Boy, Begbie, and Spud all arrive at his doorstep on the trail of a big score, leading Renton back into drugs and crime. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
Director:

The Director of Trainspotting is Danny Boyle, he is also known for these movies, which are also produced by Film Four.

Companies

Where was it filmed?

Although the movie was set in Edinburgh, most of the film was filmed in Glasgow. The opening scenes were filmed in Edinburgh and the final scenes were filmed in London.
Notable locations in the film include:
The iconic opening scene showing Renton and Spud being chased by store detectives was filmed on Princes Street, Edinburgh. A scene showing the actual theft was filmed in the music department of the since-closed John Menzies, also on Princes Street, but did not make the final cut.
The scene where the chase ends is on Calton Road, Edinburgh, near the rear entrance of Waverley Station.
The park where Sick Boy and Renton discuss James Bond, Sean Connery, and The Name of the Rose is Rouken Glen Park, near Thornliebank. The park was also the site of the grave in Boyle's previous film Shallow Grave.
Corrour railway station is the setting for the "great outdoors" scene in the film.
The flat that Renton shows the young couple around when he gets the job as an estate agent and ultimately stashes Begbie and Sickboy in is 78A Talgarth Road at North End Road, London, opposite West Kensington tube station, part of the A4 road
The scenes where they do their drug deal takes place in Bayswater. The scene where they parody The Beatles Abbey Road takes place as they walk out of Smallbrook Mews across Craven Road to the Royal Eagle, 26–30 Craven Road, Bayswater.
The school attended by Diane is Jordanhill in Glasgow's West End.

What Country is the film from?
I think that this movie comes from Britian, as most of the production team, director writers etc are British and the actors/actress are British also. The film was filmed in Britian; the production lines are also British. However the target audiences are not only British people but worldwide people, but British people may be able to relate to the storyline of the movie as drugs is something that happens very frequently in Britian.
